The Norwegian Lundehund breed is a small spitz type breed, averaging
12-15 inches tall and 14-20 lbs. Although in times past there were other
colors, the only color found nowadays is the reddish brown color. The
Norwegian Lundehund breed has some unique traits not found in other
breeds. The dogs are polydactyl, with six toes on each foot. The dogs
are also very flexible, being able to touch the top of their head to the top
of their back and they can stretch their front legs out to the side. They
can also close their ears, keeping their ear canals free of dirt or water.
Thunderpaws Kennel believes our dogs should be able to not only prove
themselves in the conformation ring, but should also compete in
companion and performance events as well. As we only occasionally
breed, we highly suggest you contact us to be put on our waiting list.
We ONLY breed Purebreds. (If you wish a mixed breed dog or puppy, we
highly suggest your local municipal animal shelter where there are
beautiful mixed breed dogs and puppies waiting for a wonderful home.)
Our dogs are our beloved pets in our home and also our hiking
companions. Our dogs are registered in both AKC-FSS and UKC (United
Kennel Club).
We are members of:

Lundehunds seem to be "naturals" for
agility, no surprise really as they have for
eons climbed the cliffs on the island Vaeroy
in order to hunt Puffin Birds and Razorbill
birds.
