About Us
The Norwegian Lundehund breed is a small rectangular spitz type
breed, averaging 12-15 inches tall and 14-20 lbs.  Although in times
past there were other colors, the only color found now is the reddish
brown color.  The Norwegian Lundehund breed has some unique
traits not found in other breeds.  The dogs are polydactyl, with six toes
on each foot.  The dogs are also very flexible, being able to touch the
top of their head to the top of their back and they can stretch their
front legs out to the side.  They can also close their ears, keeping their
ear canals free of dirt or water.

Thunderpaws Kennel has imported from Norway, Finland, Canada,
The Czech Republic and The Netherlands; and has exported to
Canada.  We believe our dogs should be able to not only prove
themselves in the conformation ring, but should also compete in
companion and performance events as well.   Our dogs are our
beloved  pets in our home and also our hiking companions and are
registered in both AKC and UKC (United Kennel Club).

Lundehunds seem to be "naturals" for
agility, no surprise really as they have for
eons climbed the cliffs on the island Vaeroy
in order to hunt Puffin Birds and Razorbill
birds.
